This has been possibly the very best week of my life.
First of all, I find out that my best friend is going to become a member of my family - a sister in name and in feelings.
Then I spend not one but two family evenings - one with my parents and the other with my brothers eating copious amounts of ice cream.
And finally, I was made an acquisitions editor at Obscurus! Its very nerve-wrecking but I'm incredibly excited to be given the chance to work so closely with authors on their forthcoming titles. Its one step closer to becoming a literary agent Its a position of responsibility but I've asked to remain in my current office because I think its where I work best.
That and my day would be just a little darker without Benjy and the coffee breaks.
How should I celebrate? I was thinking about getting a pet...

Let's discuss Journal Etiquette ...
I would like to take the opportunity to remind people that whilst these journals are a fun and novel method of communication, they are publicly visible to all and I was both shocked and disappointed to find Auror Moody had felt the need to spew filth and insults all over his journal. Even worse was reading the comments that he - as Head of the Aurors - had directed towards his colleague Auror Selwyn.
Personally I feel that a public apology to Auror Selwyn and anyone else has offended would go some way to the damage he has caused to the DMLE - a fine, upstanding group of young witches and wizards who risk their lives each day to offer us freedom from cowardly attacks.
I would implore you all to behave with dignity, class and decorum. When you communicate with your family, then you represent yourself, Society and your family name.
And if you cannot behave politely, then there are people who offer lessons on Etiquette and Acceptable Behaviour.

With all the talk in the Prophet about another masked vigilante group attacking Hogsmeade and devastating the village, I'm beginning to get quite worried about leaving my flat after dark. And yet when I do, I'm struck by how utterly wonderful our world is ; the architecture, the history, the culture that is uniquely wizarding kinds. Its incredibly precious and leads me to wonder how much was destroyed the other night.
I do not envy the work to be done by the new Minister or the DMLE.

I am very fond of my flat - I love the fact that I can cross from one end of the hall to the other in fourteen steps, and that by leaning out of my flat and to the right I can catch a glimpse of Gringotts and its white shining marble façade.
However, recently I've become dis-enamoured of my downstairs neighbour. No one should play Celestina quite that loudly and especially not at two in the morning.
I tried to go down and speak to them about it, but they grunted at me and told me in no uncertain terms that I was to mind my business. I plan on delivering them a dictionary so that they can improve their vocabulary.
Do trolls read dictionaries?

Now isn't this the picture of perfection? I'm sitting in my newly organised office, with a mug of coffee and one of those light fluffy pastries from the bakery in Diagon in my hand. The wireless is playing gently in the background and no other employees will arrive for at least another hour.
I might possibly be going to see some baby lambs in the future, and I'm having dinner this evening with someone who's both charming, dashing and whose company is a pleasure to be in.
Simple pleasures, but to mean they mean everything. I hope you all enjoy your day!
Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday dear me, Happy Birthday to me!

I often think that instead of another tea or coffee shop, what Diagon really needs is a place where people could go and get hugs. Everyone on these journals seems to be rather cryptic or upset lately and well, there has to be something we can all do - right?
In order to make people feel a little cheerier, I baked a tray of cookies which are sitting by Mabel Mowsley's desk. And should anyone want a hug, I can offer the Hufflepuff variety for the rest of this afternoon.

Why is it that no matter how careful you are, when you dunk a biscuit parts of it always break off?

It has been a fortnight of condolences and congratulations. I can only hope that the coming weeks bring with them a sense of hope.

Things I have learned in the past two days:
+ I missed my morning coffee - and my favourite flask was lost to the cobbles of Diagon. + Though yellow and black are my House colours, I do not suit them on my face. + Instructions of bed rest and potion schedules does not negate my ability to work : thankyou Benjy.
The DMLE are doing all they can to find the coward responsible for hexing an unarmed witch in the back.
And to my attacker, I strongly suggest you turn yourself in before I you are found.

Bringing a leprechaun into work is neither smart, nor clever.
Bringing a leprechaun into a publishers shows a distinct lack of courtesy for your colleagues - especially when one of the sub-editors has a fear of small, Irish creatures and their insane laughter.
That is all.

If I were a member of a dissident group and was trying to prove myself a valuable member of society, I would not attempt to injure, maim or kill people in that self-same society.
It sort of defeats the purpose and makes me wonder what their form of logic is. Clearly its flawed.

I think we should talk.

All anyone at work could talk about was the riot this weekend.
Not very romantic to smash and destroy the livelihood someone has strived and worked hard for for generations, is it?
